The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

a little relieved, but not that it makes any difference
as you can hear, well, at least for those of you who have visited my blog these past few weeks, i have decided to change the background song to Hoobastank's 'The Reason'. it's significant to me in two ways:
firstly, and more obviously, it was one of the songs we practised during our jamming sessions and were considering for TT04. not that it makes any difference now. i was the vocalist, and i pretty much sucked at it. well, fond memories they were.
secondly, i really wish something like that miraculous really happened to me. that one person could walk into my life and turn me around. and love me for who i am.
regardless of what people say, i love this song. it holds alot of meaning for me. and even though it fades away with time, when i hear it one fine day when i'm 55 and with my grandchildren, tuning to the oldies station... i'll think back to those memories and smile. what they held for me. *sniffle*
today we were kind of talking about death, and to my ghastly horror and great disappointment, my best friend doesn't give a pinch of sympathy to animals who die. she says "they're just animals for God's sake... please!" and she believes that crying for a friend or cousin that has passed is unneccessary. her reason: "every living thing will die eventually". WHAT THE FUCK??! "but it's okay to cry and mourn for your parents and for other people's parents, because they're the most significant people in your life". still, i can't believe she said that!!! i tried to strongly oppose her, and she just shot me back... OUCH! >:-( she said i'm too sensitive and she's never heard of such stupidity. FUCK YOU!
death may be part of life, but whatever the significance of that person is in your life, they were still a part of you, somehow. and they made that big or small a difference to you, as a person. on your outlook towards life, people, even yourself. i feel like taking a pistol and shooting it through her head. see if anyone will turn up - let alone cry at her funeral.
