The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

off, off and away!
today has FINALLY come.
in about 2 and half hours, i will leave for the airport. today was tiring and hot with all the packing and over-stuffing of luggages, but it's all worth it for 2 and half weeks of travelling. :)
so for the next 18 days, this blog will collect dust and my entries will cease. for awhile. but look out for (hopefully) lots of pictures and videos at my multiply site, once i settle in when i get back.
i'm going to miss him. last night was fantastic and surreal. just like old times. just what we needed.
and to nora, don't worry, i'll be back soon. you take care while i'm away, okay? XOXO
till then, hope you guys have a good holiday. :DTuesday, November 20, 2007
beowulf and lots more drama
let's start with the most obvious.
beowulf is, in search of of one good word, interesting.
at some points, it seems like a comic book brought to life. in others, it's like an old folk tale of foolish kings that once ruled with their instinctive urges within their loins. it's highly entertaining and it definitely kept my eyes rooted to the screen for the full 2 hours. there were rare weak moments, especially in dialogue, because every word spoken held so much power and force that it draws you into the plot. if you've watched 300, this is one movie you'll be pleased with. but don't expect as much gore because this movie dwells lots more on characters' dynamics within themselves and each other, as well as a bit of a taste of how angelina jolie would look in your bed... wet and naked. literally.
3.5 out of 5. :)
this weekend was almost a blur and definitely a tiring one as well. i wanted it to be a memorable last weekend together before i fly off this coming saturday night to tokyo, then the states. but alas, it was not meant to be anything but a long, tiring, angry blur. part of me thinks this 18 day-break away from everything here and him, will do me (and us) good. we just need time to be alone, by ourselves. but another part of me knows that i will miss him very badly. :(
our relationship has been especially hard on us both these past few weeks, and we absolutely have no idea why. or at least i don't. every single petty detail gets thrown out of proportion and it becomes a long, drawn-out cold war. emotionally, this is it for me. not to say i've given up, but i need to start taking care of myself. and this holiday will do me good. i hope.
yesterday i had my first taste of being an extra on the set of a television commercial (TVC). don't try to look out for it here - it's for a vietnamese motorbike. i can safely say, they literally pay you to do nothing. which is awesome by me, but it takes a hell lot of patience while waiting for the scenes where the extras come in!
reporting time was 7.20 a.m. (what an unGodly hour to even be awake at, considering it's my holiday!) at cavenagh bridge. we did the first scene there... and the next one was at... 5 p.m.! but we didn't know that, of course. so we waited... and waited... and ate... and drank... and TALKED (A FUCKING HELL LOT!)... and ate some more... some slept... while the other scenes where there were no extras were shot. and it rained just when it was time for lunch, so more sitting and chatting.
lunch became a 4 hour break! thankfully, the other extras were really nice people and we all got to know about each other amidst the downpour. i, for one, stuck with the guys. sorry, but the girls there were... just too fake, let's put it this way. they were all older than me, except for this malay guy, who's 21 too. so we laughed and ate and talked. and they smoked like chimneys. in fact, everyone did... from the crew, the models, to the extras... it was as though they were trying to burn the set down or something! it was extremely annoying, but i couldn't do anything except tolerate it for 12 hours. yucks!
$85 for 12 hours of rotting. okay, i guess. a bit of extra cash won't hurt anyone. it was definitely an experience for me, and a chance to meet other talents from my agency (create talents). and socialise.
today's another day of rotting. at home. with the luxury and privilege of clean, fresh air. :DThursday, November 15, 2007
linkin park 'minutes to midnight' asian tour 2007
i cannot put into words how awesome it was, and how long the wait has been for them to come back here!
the last time they were here, i was in the midst of a-levels and they performed at the padang. so i couldn't go! but this time around, (i think) an even bigger turnout arrived - 11,000-strong!
and you could feel the love resonating from the crowd as they sang in unison, song after song. it was exhilirating and euphoric. :)
i posted up all photos and about 5 videos on my multiply site, so feel free to head there!
the only let-down was a bout of bad seafood prior to the concert, where i puked my dinner onto the carpark grass patch just outside the entrance! ewww. yucks. then my stomach turned bubbly and i felt naseous while waiting for them to start the concert, which was about an hour and fifteen minutes after the stated time of 8 p.m. what divas. hah!
but once they came on-stage, i leapt to my feet and jumped up and down 3/4 of the time, when i was not taking pictures or videos. but i was singing all through. :D i wish i was moshing though - i miss that adrenaline.
a pity i won't be able to catch my chemical romance! i'll be suffering from way too much jet-lag, since i'm touching down in singapore at about 2 a.m. that same morning (11th december). they totally rock at live performances!
damnit.
chester's headbanging and screamo techniques are wicked!Monday, November 12, 2007
sunday manners
it's bad enough that a significant portion of 4 million+ people throng the streets of the only "exciting" place in singa-bore. and they left their manners somewhere with their saturday night/early sunday morning hangover.
i don't believe that singaporeans' mouths are filled with precious gold because our only resource is... well, ourselves. so, why is it so bloody hard to say 'excuse me', when they wish to pass through a narrow walkway, a crammed area or are in a bit of a rush?
3 syllables: X-CUUUSSSSSE-MEEEEE.
one middle-aged man with a backpack and earphones rammed into his ears just blatantly pushed me aside on the ascending escalator at orchard mrt station. i was uber irritated by then because a few people before that were shoving their way through and annoyed the fuck out of me.
so what did i do?
i shouted at him, "YOU COULD SAY EXCUSE ME YOU KNOW!" but he either chose to ignore me or seriously didn't hear me though his earphones. while the rest of the crowd in front of me looked back and just glared.
the boy tried to calm me down and all i could mutter under my breath, without drawing anymore attention to myself was, "what? that guy was really rude!" if it wasn't for the boy refraining (or rather, RESTRAINING) me from doing more harm, i would've tugged on that bugger's backpack, ripped out his earphones (and possibly his ears) and screamed in his face.
fucker.
it's one thing to go about your little busy lives thinking everyone has to make way for you. it's another to have me as that person "in your way".
LP tomorrow! can't fucking wait! :DThursday, November 08, 2007
soldier
i know how bimbotic this may sound, but i'm hooked onto britney spears' song, "toy soldier". it's so danceable, and it just makes me feel like shutting all the doors so that i can dance myself silly in front of my mirror.
but then again, it may also be because she and i may have one thing in common:
"it's time i need a soldier, i'm sick of toy soldiers..."
i'm learning something new about guys everyday, whenever i hear stories from my girlfriends about their guys or guys they know. it's amazing how unpredictable they can still be, regardless of how long they've already built themselves a 'reputation'.
it's completely unfathomable how they can shock and disappoint you countless times. tsk tsk. boys. and they say women are hard to understand.Wednesday, November 07, 2007
smitten II
if this is what you call 'the chase', then it's a damn, bloody slow chase. i'll lay my heart out on the table - no holds barred. then you decide.
but if anything happens and when it does, it'll be one incident you'll never forget. i'll make sure of it.
the feeling inside is making me squirm and unsettled. hot and cold vibes radiate from you. and i'm in no mood for mind games, especially since it's the one thing i'm trying to escape from. right now.
i hate this. i really do. oh, fuck it.Monday, November 05, 2007
spazztik
halloween was a bore for me, as those of you who read my blog would know. so i made my own horror, as i clicked away vainly in front of the camera. featuring my sister. :)
be afraid. be very afraid. (i realised i'm extremely fugly when i act retarded. who knew?)
to be alone with you
what i wouldn't do to strip you bare so that i could see through your wall
those whispers that you hush fall on my ears like a song and the sweet secrets you spill land on my thighs with great warmth
you gave your soul to be alone with me to let yourself surrender to the tremors on your skin from the kisses of temptation
to be alone with you i'd do just to be Us two
the night rain evokes a kind of loneliness like no other.Sunday, November 04, 2007
reconciliation
this weekend was dramatic and yet, sweet. on saturday, we fought and cried it out. well, okay, I FOUGHT AND CRIED IT OUT.
he just looked exasperated and fed up. but in the end, i guess we realise that now's not the time. not yet.
there's still something worthwhile. and then today, i knew why. :)
to make ourselves feel better, we bought each other a pair of jeans each (and in celebration of our belated anniversary which we both forgot about!).
i got a pair of black skinnies from river island, and he got a pair of brown levi's. we were both really happy.
in a long while.
but this poor guy isn't too happy. i felt completely disgusted at how some tourists think they're so advanced and superior just because they're whites. or maybe they just think singapore is still somewhere in indonesia or even thailand. click here to see the offensive clip.
i don't know how you may interpret this short clip, but i don't think these 3 brits needed to humiliate and taunt the unfortunate victim, even if they really were short of cash. oh well, just watch it, and see what i mean.
it's going to be hard not seeing you. again.Friday, November 02, 2007
blackout
i've just finished listening to britney spears' new comeback album 'blackout' (NO, i didn't go out and buy it; i downloaded it from a fantabolous music blog. love it. hee!). if you want the address, message me; it has pretty good latest singles and albums (mainstream, of course). thanks nasser for recommending it to me!
and it surprised me. well, not that ms spears experimented much, but it was catchy and infectious (like her, i guess). most of the tracks really epitomised her musical persona since she first started.
my favourite picks are, of course 'gimme more', and 'ooh ohh baby', 'toy soldier', 'why should i be sad' and the bonus track, 'get back'. 'why should i be sad' had a very justin timberlake-ish melody and vibe to it - maybe he helped produce it. it's very groovy and the album as a whole kept my spirits up on a friday night at home. :)
at first i thought it'd be crap, honestly. but it was much better than i'd expected. so, it's not only for die-hard fans of britney (if there are still any left out there in singapore), but also for those who have 'followed' her music career since her 'baby, one more time' days and even past her in-'toxic'-ating phase. if you're not keen on actually purchasing the album, then go borrow it - you'll be quite pleased.
3 out of 5. :)
smitten
i really want to blog about it, but i know i'll put myself in a rather - no, VERY - risky situation.
but i just want to say, oh my God, he's so intense. and he's left me breathless. this isn't very good for me.
only my babe, nora, knows what i mean eh? hee.our little secret. and i completely agree with you, honey. i don't think i should think so much.
just go ahead, and dive in. :)
i really hope there's something to catch me in the end, though.Thursday, November 01, 2007
favourite mistake
"you're the one mistake, i really didn't mind, so beautiful and merciful, you took me down..."
ever wanted something/someone so badly, but you knew you just couldn't allow yourself to? the guilt ate your insides, but your guts yearned for it/him/her.
even a taste of it/him/her would satisfy your craving. you just needed to know how it was like. you just had to.
