The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

time to...
due to some saying that i should not "air dirty laundry", in spite of it being MY blog (note the irony), i take back the post previously here. thanks for understanding. :)Friday, July 25, 2008
me, the atheist.
Your Result:
Atheist. God, Shmod. You don't believe in a God or Gods, you believe in science. Once you die, you believe that you no longer exist and that's that.
should i be worried? or be glad that it re-confirms my skepticism?Wednesday, July 23, 2008
the dark knight
i went in expecting the usual feast of action, stirring plot and sinisterly glorious acting from both the highly anticipated joker (the late heath ledger) and batman himself (christian bale). sadly, the film goes to the "underdog", harvey dent, who's gotham city's new district attorney. i won't mention any spoilers as much as i can avoid them, as i know plenty of you have not yet caught this summer flick.
in terms of story flow, there's succinct dialogue and sufficient sub-plots to tie together the entire movie as a whole. but what is lacking is awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping effects and action sequences. maybe i'm spoilt by the run-of-the-mill action movies from hollywood, but (c'mon) it's batman! maggie gyllenhall spoilt screen-time with her awkward acting and noticeably rehearsed lines. it was quite painful to watch her, personally. however, lucky for me, i love a good dose of evil, and the joker did not disappoint me. ledger was beyond recognisable with his excellent portrayal that lives up to nicholson's performance and it was, at times, creepy just watching him BE the character, and not merely PLAY it out on-screen.
even with his untimely death, ledger still would've deserved the oscar that many are buzzing about. his family should be honoured and proud to have a son who's left, maybe not a legacy, but an extraordinary tale of both success and turmoil. overall, 'the dark knight' will definitely be my pick for movie of the year (in spite of the year not ending that soon), and is not just for 'batman' fans, but for any fan of an actor that has truly left behind an "applaudable" performance.
4 out of 5.
p.s. rumour has it that JOHNNY DEPP is sought after to play the next joker. although he'll be a hefty sum of money to hire, i can already foretell that will be an awesome follow-up to watch out for! :)
p.p.s. i can't wait for my pre-ordered joker poster to arrive! (it better be worth the approximate $200 i spent on a whim!):D
bloody gorgeous.

in what feels like forever
it's not a month yet since i last blogged, but it sure feels like eons. to those of you who have already abandoned or given up hope in looking forward to new entries during each visit, too bad.
i've come to realise blogging can only suffice so long for me, because my passion is writing - not typing. there's something magical about actually writing out words, sentences, paragraphs and stories with your bare hands and just a pen/pencil.
call me crazy, but it's magic to me.
loads has happened since my last entry. and a summary will not do justice to the events that have passed. so i shall just state that it has been much more eventful (for lack of a better word) than i would've have guessed it would turn out to be.
i've taken plenty of photographs which i may or may not post up soon, depending on my mood. but i can completely understand if many of you find this place to become a bore. even i do sometimes.
i dread the impending fasting month, and the lonely days of him away in reservist. i hope the singfest weekend will lift my spirits. :)

blogging from NLB
blogging from elsewhere, other than the comfort of your room, still feels weird to me. strangers walking all round you and you, in the corner, spilling (possibly) the darkest of your secrets.
it's almost scary, really.
last night was something else. it was scary. and now i'm more confused than ever.
it's not that i don't have feelings for you. i just can't.Thursday, July 03, 2008
sun.sand.sea.
exactly what i've been craving. and i got a decent tan. it's not as dark as i thought it'd be, so i'm going for another session next week. sentosa's really nothing compared to the glorious beaches in southeast asia, but, oh well, it's got to do.
the weather was beautiful - cloudless, sunny and breezy.
but of course, a perfect day can never be, in my world.
i'm fucking done with her. i'm not going to try when i only get all my efforts slapped back in my face.
i'm fucking done with you. fucking done.
