The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

happy birthday!
i want to take a little time out of my boredom to wish one of my closest friends, and ever-so-loyal shopping "kaki" and face-stuffing buddy, eric josiah tan, a happy, happy 24th birthday! i already know you really love the present i got you (or at least, you'd better!), so i hope the self-proclaimed "birthday week festival" will be just as awesome.
thank you for all the bitching, the shared weight gaining/losing, the easing of school/family stress and most of all, just being the closest guy friend i've had. ever. :)
cheers, my dear friend.
p.s. i've updated the song file above - jose gonzalez's "crosses". beautiful.Monday, September 15, 2008
miracle
although i've taken a step forward, and she looked at me with the same tears in her eyes as mine, it does not change how i feel about her. 22 years is too much to forgive in just 15 minutes of heart-to-heart.
and i will continue to make my own way.
i'm sorry i cannot forgive. especially for the fact that i was born out of a loveless, regrettable marriage.

a unique skill
i think i'm one of the rare few who have the clumsy ability to fall off a stationary motorbike. yes, a rooted, firm, non-moving vehicle.
as i was getting off, which i usually do on the left side, my right foot would be the first one to touch the ground. last weekend, my footing failed me and i slipped off the edge of the curb, tumbled over myself and landed face first on the gravelled pavement. thank God for my full-face helmet still on.
but still, i felt utterly stupid. and even more pathetic when the boy just stood over me and merely asked, "are you okay?" repetitively without actually helping me up. what an asshole.
retrospectively, it's hilarious. :)Friday, September 05, 2008
your mother
i cannot begin to describe the tiniest joy i feel, and the smile that creeps up on the corner of my lips when i say to my sister, "excuse me, your mother is calling you".
it makes me feel somewhat disowned - and i love it.
oh, and maybe it's just me, but how awesome are the new sidewalk tiles along orchard road? :)
