The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

boredom and cam-whorring
and the most "cutest" creation inspired by psychology statistics class boredom:
sigh. today was a total day of sheer boredom. from screen theories & techniques class to psychology. the only perk was lunch at Long John's. and defacing the mentos box, which was newly opened TODAY. and finished TODAY. in a span of less than 3 hours. that's just how bored we were. the cam-whorring was done a few nights ago, when i was (AGAIN) bored.
there are mainly 3 things i want to rant about tonight. and all 3 have something in common.
they piss me off.
1st. my wedges are soooo painful. well, considering i just wore them today, and technically, they are the highest 'heels' i have. my gosh. i need a foot bath right now. and my personal foot reflexologist right here. right NOW! (and i was super smart to wear them on a day that i KNEW i'd be out the entire day - from 8 a.m. till 8. 30 p.m. -_-)
2nd. imagine this scenario: Your mom has just had her tonsils taken out, and you're on your way to pay her a visit at the hospital, with your boyfriend. you know your dad is also on his way, but you and your boyfriend arrive 1st. so there you are and your mom is appreciative of the surprise visit by your caring boyfriend. and she likes the flowers he bought for her as well. then your dad arrives. first instinct of your boyfriend is, of course, to salam (greet) your dad, as a sign of respect for an elder. as your boyfriend stretches out his hand to greet your dad, your dad mutters under his breath (BUT STILL AUDIBLE ENOUGH TO BE UNDERSTOOD & TO YOUR BOYFRIEND'S FACE - BUT ADDRESSING YOU), "you're not supposed to bring along FOREIGNERS". just typing this out makes me want to punch the daylights out of him. for fuck's sake, look who's talking? you're not even a bloody singaporean, so don't talk so much! anyways, my mom is the one being paid a visit, not him! why the fuck does he care? it's times like this, i really thank GOD my mom likes Yasin. well, or at least, she's okay with him. my dad has no utter regard for people. who the fuck does he think he is? i know it's in his nature to be LIKE THIS (trust me, he's said WORSE about MANY PEOPLE), but come on, you're visiting a patient in a hospital, and you dare open your mouth and say such nasty stuff?
i hate him. i swear i fucking hate him.
3rd. now, what the fuck is wrong with singaporeans? first, mathilda. now, nurul? hey i know i didn't like her much, due to SOMEONE saying that she's cute. but she's got talent. the way things are going, joakim can win. that fucking adolescent BOY can win. can i suggest something to mediacorp? don't hold another singapore idol ever again. singaporeans can't be trusted.
i'm sorry for one too many 'fucks'. it's been a tiring, long day. but my Yasin made it really good.:)Sunday, August 20, 2006
zombie-fied
ironically enough, the past week has been a very relaxing one.
i only REALLY went to school for REAL lessons, once. on thursday.
one was postponed, and the other i woke up late for. poo.
but, weekend psychology lessons were like punishment for me. saturday AND sunday.
and the lack of sleep is getting from bad to worse. or rather, from worse to terrible. i'm sitting here stoned and barely awake enough to last 2 hours.
i HAVE to force myself to sleep early today. have to, have to, have to. even if insomnia teases me and whispers another sinful late night into my ear, i shall have to learn to ignore it.
by the way, i'd like to thank my dearies from 03A2 like di, ron, lynn, carine, rach and may, for the EXTREMELY BELATED BIRTHDAY PACKAGE that came a-knocking on my door yesterday afternoon. it's very very sweet of you girls. and i LOVE it. the notebook is soooo me. :D and the book is one of my fave movies. :D
perfect. ^_^
oh, and i went to watch THE SECOND LINK play today at the drama centre at NLB. it's superb. hilarious and witty. i laughed till i cried. it consists of two parts. part 1 is a collection of short singapore-written skits performed by malaysian talents. and part 2 is vice versa (collection of short malaysian-written skits played out by singaporean talents). lim yu beng made up part of the singapore cast, and he was excellent. and this malay guy called ghani (not sure if you spell that with an 'h' or not) acted too - and SANG.
OMG. no singapore idol has ever reached his vocal talent. plus, he's got a really buff body, which is uber noticeable - even under a loose singlet. ;-)
really relaxing way to spend a sunday afternoon. with the arts.Friday, August 18, 2006
dismay
singaporeans being singaporeans. and we're talking selectively about the YOUNGER ONES.
how superficial can they get? mathilda's not cut out for singapore idol?
if anyone noticed, and of course watched last night's results show, maybe you would've observed that the bottom 3 (i.e. mathilda, hady and jonathan) were all the OLDER ones of the competition.
with this, i can assume that majority of voters are young, naive, hormonally-raging teenagers who adore, worship and swoon over the littlest of cutest looks or sweet pretty faces.
i could've just died hearing gurmit announce mathilda's departure from the competition. if things keep going the way they are, joaquim has the best chance of making it to the finals.
joaquim IS entertaining, yes. singer?
fuck no.Tuesday, August 15, 2006
my new wedges :)
after searching high and low for a pair of wedges that look JUST like the ones i fell in love with at ALDO, i finally found them.
of course, nothing beats the actual ones i yearned for at ALDO (they didn't have my size. boo!) but this is close to it. and naturally, much cheaper! it was about $36+, and on top of that, a 'national day discount' of 10%! (it was some shop in wisma atria - forgot the name. blek.)
so it was well worth the waiting and endless searching. can't wait to wear them. hee.

time on my hands
i finally got the pictures from our 16th anniversary.
and because the lighting wasn't fantastic - considering You used Your k750i - i had to do PLENTY of editing.
don't worry, not too much editing that it takes away the essence of the occasion. it's still tasteful and i think it makes the moments captured even more memorable. :)
if i say so myself.
so here it is. ^_^
i loved every moment of it. thanks baby.Saturday, August 12, 2006
temporary breather
sigh. i'm glad my first deadline has passed.
but at the same time, i'm so not looking forward to september's deadlines. i have so many scattered throughout the entire month, i can't even count how many!
i know the major ones are on the 9th (i think!), 18th and 22nd. 22nd, i have TWO assignments due. shit. if i'm not wrong, 18th too!
and in between, smaller-scale assignments are aplenty.
september's going to be packed. fully loaded.
sigh.
and what's more, we are the last batch for monash's intake in singapore, because they want to fully focus on on-campus RDA. so, the two of us (me and another friend) are planning to consider transferring to UNSW Singapore next year. i don't want to delay graduation or have more complications in payment and courses, but honestly, i don't trust that F-ed up *** admin.
i just want to slack this weekend away. seriously. it's only the first month of the 1st semester, and i've pushed myself into overdrive already. i'm so tired from the late nights, and fretting about assignments, studying and other urgent matters.
aarrrggghhh.
pooey. i want my bear. i need him. NOW.Thursday, August 10, 2006
a new private blog
just a notice:
i have another blog, but it's private. to my hunnies, i will be giving the password to you guys soon. more information about that blog, is already written there as my first post. i will have two main categories, also all stated there.
so hope you guys will check back there once in a while. and i hope to hear from you soon. :) http://wani.wordpress.com
cheers!
P.S.
don't worry, this blog will still be my main blog, where all general topics will be posted. it's just that i find i can't post more sensitive issues here because it's too "open", if you know what i mean. ;-)
a little pain pays. i think.
i've been having this sharp pain in my right thumb for about a week now, and it hurts every time i bend it or carry something heavy with the help of my thumb.
now i realise i sprained it. stupid eh? and, as traditional massages would go about it, you would find that the pain is not isolated in just one area. if you were to follow your vein (from where the main pain is), you would find that the pain does exist further up (or down) your body. in my case, i managed to trace which vein it is, and as i was pressing further up my right arm, there was suddenly a stabbing pain in my bicep. shit! it hurts like F.
so i had to rub deep heating cream to "loosen" the tension and bandage up my wrists and hand. hopefully, within a week, it'll be fine. but out of all timings, i HAD to get the pain now. AND in my RIGHT hand. my assignments are due tomorrow, and i can't hold a pencil/pen or even type properly. even while i'm trying to type this entry out, my thumb is twitching in sheer pangs of sharp pain.
like the struggle of even completing the assignments ain't hard enough - what more with retardation of my ability to type. -_-
i'm going on normally as i possibly can without You. but it's hard. so hard.Tuesday, August 08, 2006
bittersweet end to the day
it was supposed to be an unforgettable day out with You, to last the entire week ahead till next tuesday.
but it was a far cry from that.
we bickered.
it was dull.
and for over an hour over the phone, we argued again.
to think i confessed my appreciation for You too early. what a waste.
this week ahead's going to be sheer torture without You. i miss You so so so so so much already.Sunday, August 06, 2006
hard candy
one word.
disgust.
it's gore without the visuals.
lots of mind games. but this is the absolute, ultimate 1st movie that made me want to leave halfway. it was really hard to not leg my legs lead me out of my seat.
and it wasn't because of the squirmish plot, but rather, the character that Hailie plays. she irks me to the point of wanting to bitch slap her. never have i ever felt so involved in a movie's character that i actually felt pissed to be sitting there having to watch them (or in this case, her) on-screen.
then again, maybe that's what makes it a good watch. it gets you going.
but as the review says, it is unrealistic. and yea, really thinking about it, i doubt any 14-year-old girl has the guts to pull such a brilliant and vulgar plan just to bring to justice a suspected paedophile.
WARNING: SPOILER BELOW!!!
honey, it was funny watching You squirm and fidget in Your seat in the scenes leading up to his castration, and when she finally did castrate him. and me, hah. i was literally at the edge of my seat biting my nails. but seriously, if SAW is your kind of movie, then this one'll probably wet your appetite too. just don't expect too much blood or visual gore, because she's all about playing with your mind. sandra oh from grey's anatomy stars too - though very brief.pretty low budget, simple storyline, excellent deliverance. 3 and a half out of 5.
sleeping next to You is always heaven. just like subway is. hee.Friday, August 04, 2006
essay block
before i begin complaining (like i always end up doing, intentionally or not), i'd like to wish rachel a belated happy 20th birthday. gosh, now you're one of us! once you hit the 2-0, there's no turning back. hee. and to think you had such an awesome time in BALI! all should learn how to negotiate from rachel(click the link)! read her entry and you'll be sure to envy her! i'm sure that trip in itself was a pre-birthday prezzie my dear. right? ;-) white water rafting's a blast innit? and to join the 2-0 club as well, is idayu. :) yes, i have been visiting your blog time to time. happy birthday babe. ^_^ now on to my ranting. hee.
i know i have to - and i seriously want to - start on my essay that's due next friday. and i have TWO of those. but i can't bloody start. i don't have any freaking idea how to. too many months of not writing any piece of decent crap has made my brain all mushy.
and today i got my transcript for my higher diploma. i got a credit average. CREDIT? FUCKING CREDIT? i so badly wanted a distinction, at least. just to prove my point and position in this place. and to tarnish the already lousy grade, i have an effing PASS for one of my modules. FUCK. how fugly can that be? i was THIS close to failing. shit.
but oh well, what's done is done. all i can foresee is more "barely-there" passes in my degree. mediocrity, here i come.Wednesday, August 02, 2006
baby baby baby
i know You love me, like i do.
and maybe even more.
siiiiigh.
but sometimes, just sometimes, my love for You makes me do stupid things. things i may not want to do, say or think. i really am sorry.
but i'm weak too. i need Your comfort, reassurance and unconditional love, most of all.
i'm so tired of loving for two. i want us to be Us. not me. not just me.Tuesday, August 01, 2006
therapeutic
just like the herbal infusion peppermint tea i'm sipping now after a blissful day, the day itself was just as calming.
today, we celebrated out 16th month, though 2 days in advance. and it was beautiful.
it started with us watching the lake house (my choice) at cineleisure, snuggled up in couple seats and feeding each other nachos and cheese. yummy. :)
then we enjoyed and savoured each other's company with the mouth-watering taste of subway sandwiches. we just watched time fly by, and we rode on the calming aura that surrounded the love we shared. (yes, mushy)
then we sped off to holland village for an italian dinner at al dente. and it was magical with that card i got You. the pink candle burned bright. did You make a wish?
i hope You did.
because when You blew it out, i did. i wished... wished... wished.
all this could last forever. i love You, my sayang.
