looking at issues
i read today's Sunday Times and two particular articles caught my attention. first, was the article on Singapore teens' 'secret lives'.
all i can say is, this issue is nothing new at all. how many times have the newspapers brought up the issue of pre-marital sex among youths? and how many times have they failed in doing anything about it? face it. singapore youths are an oppressed and unhappy lot. sex is their only high. since drugs and too much booze can easily be found out. just have a dark corner, or a bed. humping in progress.
next article, was the 'controversy' about the rising trend of teachers who blog. this is utter rubbish. teachers are human beings too, who, like any other working adult, has a social and private life. yes, they aren't allowed to gripe and sulk about their work, because that's unethical. nor are they allowed to post events in their lives that may suggest them to be promiscuous or anything other than a role model. role model? hello, they are TRYING their best to be TEACHERS. let them be. not like they haven't contributed enough by educating our youths. what singapore calls, "the future leaders of our nation". bah!
so having said all that, i shall be off blogging about my sexcapades and still hope to be a role model for some youth out there reading my blog.
and if you ARE that youth, then better think twice. i may be YOUR role model, but i'm certainly not a saint.
