The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

tears
m. night shyamalan's 'lady in the water' is not your typical shyamalan film.
it's meant to be a bedtime story that shyamalan wrote for his kids. oh boy, what a nightmare these kids will have. but they're lucky they have a dad with such wild imagination.
all i can say is, without revealing too much, it's a touching, compassionate story about the human spirit. and like all bedtime stories, it comes with a moral:
everyone here has a purpose. God has created his children with every intention of fulfilling a destiny. and sometimes, although we may not know what our purpose here is in our early years, it might just take a complete stranger to walk into our lives to unlock the hidden beautiful qualities we never knew we possessed.
there a few (some would say) 'cheap scares', but i think overall, the storyline is heart-wrenching enough for me. i cried, 'nuff said.
next on our list, 'the lake house'. right honey? :)
after all the tears of 5 nights, i want it to stop. please baby. stop it. it really hurts. i love You.
