The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

post-21st birthday
phew. man, am i pooped. literally. all over. in all parts of my body.
honestly, i'm so shagged now i could just knock out. but i'm itching to jot down what happened for the past two days as my 21st birthday bliss with my boy took place. :)
yesterday, (well, on the 22nd) it was simple yet very surprising. i had no idea where he was going to take me, but we ended up in marina square. then the only clue he gave was, "it starts at 1 p.m." so i naturally thought "MOVIE". but oh boy, was i so off.
after lunch at Long John's Silver, we walked around for a bit because we were early. then he covered my eyes till we arrived at The Spa @ anew. yeah, literally, that's their name.
he had me in for an afternoon appointment of a green tea full body scrub, a facial and a full body massage. i actually fell asleep. :-P it felt sooooo good.
i would've loved it if he joined me in a couple's room, but i failed to convince him to spend any more money on himself. anyway, he reasoned that he was going for reservist soon, so there would be no point in getting all scrubbed down and having squeaky clean pores. he's right, somewhat. -_-
then today (the 23rd), he parked his bike at my place at around 11.15 a.m., and then we headed out to town by public transport. why?
because he thought it'd be a hassle to carry all the shopping bags on the bike. and i couldn't get the car today. so, what to do. hmph.
anyways, we ate at subway at far east plaza. we got into quite a tiff over lunch, which resulted into us wasting 1 and a half precious hours of shopping time. a bigger hmph. when that was blown over, we went into tannlines at wisma atria first, because i so needed to replace my old tankini which can barely hold my vital bits together anymore. *blush* but the tankinis made me look like a hippopotamus, or at least The Muppets', Ms Piggy. so no luck there.
then off to MNG, but nothing new or interesting there. then i wanted to get Ralph Lauren's new fragrance 'HOT', so my boy recommended we go lucky plaza to try our bargaining skills. luck welcomed us there, as we managed to not only get what i wanted, but he also bought a davidoff for himself. :)
then having puked out my lunch earlier (not due to bad or contaminated food, but because i wasn't feeling too well this morning), we made a pit-stop at mcDonald's for a fillet-o-fish meal, which he got for free, using some coupon. or something. after having momentarily recharged ourselves, we headed to the heeren, where i zoomed into ed hardy. i knew i just HAD to get something from there, because i always walk past the store, but my wallet is never in my favour to get something from there. so finally i walked out one happy customer, as i bought a 135 bucks t-shirt that is only 1 of 5 available in singapore. :D
so, then i wanted to go to the roxy store in raffles city, so we took the train at somerset to city hall, and my boy was dying for an ice blended java chip at starbucks. yummy! glorious chocolate. hee.
at the roxy store, he let me loose like a wild frantic monkey and i fell in love with so many of the t-shirts there, but i knew i wanted a long sleeve shirt, because after getting one for my sister for christmas, i knew i HAD to get one too. her roxy long sleeve t-shirt is uber cool. the range they had wasn't as much as when i bought hers in december, but there was one that i absolutely LOVED. another happy customer. :D then we strolled over to esprit where i let my baby sit and enjoy the rest of his starbucks, while i toddled in and out of the changing room to try on a few capri pants. finally i found the perfect one, and i was even happier. ^_^
we were about an hour and 15 minutes early for our dinner reservation, so we walked to marina square to sit (gosh, our feet ached like shit) and take pictures of each other and ourselves. he didn't tell me, yet, where exactly he made dinner plans at. so i was really curious. but he said, it IS expensive.
and boy, was it! at 6.45 p.m., we made our way to the pan pacific hotel, and he took me a whole round to see the restaurants available. and i had to pick which one it was that he made reservations at. in the end, i made a wrong guess, but my initial hunch was the right one. -_-
ZAMBUCA. one of michelangelo's restaurants. woot. posh posh place. i was extremely impressed. and i felt uber bad about letting him bring me there, i almost wanted to convince him to walk out. jeez.
water was out of the bottle, so you know they're bound to make you pay. so no orders for drinks for us. they suggested wine, but seriously, that would leave us (actually, him) extremely broke. so we just had tomato bruschetta as starters and pasta frutti de mare as his main course, and linguine tandoor, as mine. for those unsure, frutti de mare is seafood, and the tandoor was sort of a fusion dish, where they mixed tandoori chicken with a cream tomato sauce. we asked the waiter to take photos of us with our main courses, and my baby mentioned that it's my birthday today. when we asked for the bill after stuffing our faces with good food, the waitress was a bit hesistant to give it to us, and we thought that was a little weird. then 2 seconds later, the waiter brought out a piece of tiramisu cake with a single candle on it, singing 'happy birthday' to me. awwwww.
honestly, i was bloated like a puffer fish, that i could have just hurl. but i cannot resist tiramisu. and it was excellent. one of the best i've tasted. the bill came up to about a hundred, rounded off. so that felt a little reassuring. then we took photos in front of the restaurant for memories. :)
we headed towards the restrooms, and when we came out, my boy surprised me with a sterling silver bracelet, with the words, 'I LOVE YOU'. it is so pretty.
then we walked back to city hall to take a bus back to my place, since it was still an hour away from my curfew. the bus journey was nice. it's been so long since i've ridden on the bus with someone i love. i actually fell asleep, while he looked out for our stop. he's such a darling.
when we alighted, the walk home was tiring (of course), but nice. and different. before we parted ways, we hugged and kissed. it was truly the best birthday i've had.
i've never felt so pampered before. and i love him for it. i'm going to miss him when he's gone for reservist. and the bracelet is a reminder of where my heart belongs. to him. and only him. p.s. pictures will be up soon, when my boy sends me the photos. so hang on for those! ^_^
