The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

300
if you like a good serving of war, love, blood, gore, darn good sword-fighting scenes, and breathtaking cinematography, 300 will fill your appetite just fine.
within the first 15 minutes, i have to honestly say, i was impressed. it surely exceeded my expectations, especially since it's pretty much stereotyped as a "guys movie".
of course, it gets a little overboard with the killing, that after the first hour of blood, you're pretty much numbed to the slicing and dicing of human flesh right before your very eyes. but to live up to its attempt at achieving a "comic effect", it does very well.
having done most of the movie in front of a green screen, the acting flows and the dialogue is carried out with such conviction, that if they (Sparta) were to hold a speech, you'd be so tempted to 'die in honour' for them. muahaha! i'm not so sure how accurate the war is based on actual historical events, but it's darn good entertainment, if you ask me! :D
the best line yet? "then we'll fight in the shade."
no idea what they mean? well, go watch it to find out!
sheer poetry of war. i love it.
