The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

lazy monday
lazy sums up today.
WHY?
because i started it out by waking up almost 2 hours late for school, and ended up not going. nice shit right? class starts at 10 a.m. (which is already a bonus, since it normally starts at 9 a.m. for other morning classes) yet, that was the time i suddenly woke up and realised there was no way for me to get to school, even fashionably late (considering i take a good hour to reach school, excluding shower, breakfast, walking out, etc.)
the worse part is that, today's supposed to be my real first class for my developmental and biological psychology module (because last week it was postponed). and i missed it. even nicer shit right?
then my classmate eric messaged me on my cell phone to say that the lecturer's pretty strict in making sure we do our readings and there's a WHOLE lot of work to be done. because according to her, (quote/unquote) "you all must aim for distinctions and higher distinctions". wow.
which only means one thing: i'm literally a piece of dead meat.
and according to him, she's one of those pesky and annoying lecturers that pick on students by name to answer their questions. i hate those kind, seriously.
anyways, in trying not to think too much about the tons of work to come, last night, after my sunday class (yes, even more depressing!), i spent the evening with my baby.
the last moments before he has to go reservist. and it was beautiful. and pretty nicely coincidental. we were thinking of where to go for dinner, holland V vs. boat quay, and in the end we decided on the latter (due to more choices available). but i already set my mind (or rather my tummy!) on indian food. so after walking and looking at various indian places, we settled on one. i forgot the name, but the food's good. :)
now here's the coincidental part: i just decided to take along my camera because i wanted to take pictures of us, before he went. at around 8.55 p.m., there were fireworks across the singapore river, and it lasted for a good LONG 5 minutes. so my baby swiped my camera to take a video of it. perfect. :D so i made the right choice of going boat quay AND bringing along my camera (i really had no idea there were going to pop fireworks on the last day of chinese new year).
after a filling and oil-laden (no pun intended!) dinner, we decided to stroll along the river, to take more pictures and just spend time in each other's embrace. it was soooo nice, and romantic, of course. ^_^
i surprised him by asking him to close his eyes, and hold my hand, while i read out a poem i wrote out just for that occasion, and just for him. i'm so glad he liked it.
in the mean time, enjoy these!
i hope the 3 weeks that he'll be gone, will pass by fast. and i hope the workload won't cave me in.
literally.
