leggings & hot pants

this is an announcement for a wee bit of help for my upcoming feature article assignment, due 3rd september 2007.

i have chosen to write on the current trend of leggings and hot pants (you know those super short shorts), and i need people to interview. of course, having a blog makes it easier, because i can just post my questions here, and you guys can answer them, in your own time, and if you wish to!

here goes:

1. Do you personally wear/have worn leggings and/or hot pants?

2. If yes, what do you usually pair them with (i.e. in terms of top, accessories, shoes, etc.)?

3. If no, what do you think about the comeback* of this trend?

4. What is your opinion of MEN wearing leggings**?

5. If a person (e.g. friend, girlfriend, sister, colleague, stranger, etc.) whose body type just doesn't suit wearing leggings or hot pants, will you tell them? Why?

*this trend existed wayyyy back in the 14th century. of course, it wasn't meant as a fashion statement back then - more for keeping warm during winters. then of course, in the 19th century, FLASHDANCE screened in 1984, and it was all the rave.

**more commonly, scottish men wear tights under their kilts. but recently, at the Marni's Men show during the Fall 2007 fashion Week, outfits with leggings designed solely for men were introduced.

you can post your responses in the tagboard, though i personally think it's a bit of a squeeze there. or you can e-mail me your answers, or even drop me a message on msn messenger. alternatively, if you have a blog that you know i read (if i don't read it or don't know the link, drop the link on my tagboard and i'll pop by your blog to check it out!), you can create a post with your answers. :) pass them on to your friends as well, but don't forget to include their full name, age and occupation. oh yeah, plus (naturally) permission from them to publish their words, should i choose to include them in my article.

any way you wish, i leave it up to you guys. :D but the help would be of great use! AND AND AND if you have any connections with people in the fashion industry or know of people who do, please let me know! i can come up with another set of questions for them, and pass it on. it'll really help me dig deeper and get more meat for my feature story!

if you have (or have heard of) humourous encounters/anecdotes involving these fashion items, please share! it'll be nice to add new dimensions and lightheartedness into my story.
