The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

a decent weekend
i say 'decent' because it wasn't as all hyped up as i thought it'd be.
there were 4 arguments between us that caused quite a rift over the 2 days. and sometimes it's those type of outbursts that make me wonder, "will we ever really be ready?"
he shot to my face, "do you know you ask for reassurance for everything? are you really that insecure?!" and he made his stand clear that he will not reassure me for things that are deemed "small" and "unimportant". "be independent", he told me. all these definitions are by his book, not mine, of course. i wonder what he's here for then, if i can't even turn to him when i need a shoulder to lean on, regardless of how big or small the problem may be?
i miss the times when he wouldn't even think twice about rushing to my side to see if i'm okay. a real friend, he was. i miss that friend.
