The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

blackout
i've just finished listening to britney spears' new comeback album 'blackout' (NO, i didn't go out and buy it; i downloaded it from a fantabolous music blog. love it. hee!). if you want the address, message me; it has pretty good latest singles and albums (mainstream, of course). thanks nasser for recommending it to me!
and it surprised me. well, not that ms spears experimented much, but it was catchy and infectious (like her, i guess). most of the tracks really epitomised her musical persona since she first started.
my favourite picks are, of course 'gimme more', and 'ooh ohh baby', 'toy soldier', 'why should i be sad' and the bonus track, 'get back'. 'why should i be sad' had a very justin timberlake-ish melody and vibe to it - maybe he helped produce it. it's very groovy and the album as a whole kept my spirits up on a friday night at home. :)
at first i thought it'd be crap, honestly. but it was much better than i'd expected. so, it's not only for die-hard fans of britney (if there are still any left out there in singapore), but also for those who have 'followed' her music career since her 'baby, one more time' days and even past her in-'toxic'-ating phase. if you're not keen on actually purchasing the album, then go borrow it - you'll be quite pleased.
3 out of 5. :)
