The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

giving up
you know when you should just give up on anything and everything when your own family (especially parents) turns on you and just cannot see the beauty and humanity in their own children anymore.
i've told myself countless times that if anyone needs to prove this life is worth something more than this pain, it's me. i need to do this for me.
but honestly, it's an old mind game that's proving to be pointless, and it's sucking the very essence of life out of me. i haven't officially joined the rat race, where i'm fully aware that backstabbing and bitching come as a package. but trust me, once all that negativitiy invades and terrorises your home, it's pretty much the end of you.
it's because, you can always quit your job and seek greener pastures given the chance. but you can't quit your family, because people talk and people will say you are ungrateful and a sinner.
i've lied to myself donkey times, "you can do this, you can be strong. you deserve to be happy, relax, you'll get through this." but ah, fuck it. who am i kidding?
i'm as weak as all the tissues i've soaked my tears with for the past 23 years.
