The signal is subtle
We pass just close enough to touch
No questions, no answers
We know by now to say enough
With only simple words
With only subtle turns
The things we feel alone for one another
There is a secret that we keep
I won't sleep if you won't sleep
Because tonight may be the last chance we'll be given
We are compelled to do what we must do
We are compelled to do what we have been forbidden
So I won't sleep if you won't sleep tonight

heartfuck
yes, you read right. there's mindfuck, but i think there should be a new term coined 'heartfuck'. and in a way, it's more fucked up than someone playing mind games with you.
what's it with people (initially, i wanted to say boys, but oh well, i reckon i'll get blasted for being sexually biased) toying around with others' feelings? i mean seriously? especially in the art of courtship.
i cannot, absolutely cannot, comprehend those who play the "hot and cold" game when they're trying to woo someone. and most of the time, their excuse is "i don't know. i'm just not into him/her." then why the fuck start a chase you were never even really bothered with in the first place?!
and don't confuse this with the the concept of dating. i get dating. you meet people, you see who you tickles your funny bone, who disgusts you. it's when people choose to go beyond just "simply dating" to actually wooing someone, but eventually leave the other person hanging in the lurch.
for example, boy meets girl. boy likes girl. boy starts to text/call girl (apart from scheduling dates). boy starts to sweet talk girl to the ends of the earth. girl thinks she might give boy a chance, and lets her guard up little by little. boy makes girl feel oh-so-special. girl starts believing boy. girl confesses she really likes boy. boy does silent treatment on girl.
oh, and if girl pursues the matter and asks (mind you, not even CONFRONT) boy why he's suddenly being distant, boy just gives some shit-ass answer that makes girl wanna kick his face to the ground.
why... WHY??!!!
i personally LOVE the thrill of courtship. i think it's one of, if not, THE most beautiful part of any relationship. but it really, reallyangers, saddens, demoralises and breaks my heart when the other party starts a "woo-fest", only to run away mid-courtship, return, vanish, re-reappear and so on (you get the picture), and pretend it's the most, absolutely respectable thing to do.
i'm absolutely HURT.
